Vor 50 Jahren erschien David Bowies erste Single „Do Anything You Say“

Nachdem David Bowie gemeinsam mit The Lower Third die Single „Can’t Help Thinking About Me“ herausgebracht hatte, veröffentlichte Pye Records am 01. April 1966 seine erste Aufnahme als Solokünstler mit dem Titel „Do Anything You Say“. Als B-Side befand sich darauf der Song „Good Morning Girl“. Ein Erfolg wurde das Lied allerdings nicht; es konnte sich nicht in den UK-Charts platzieren.

Bowie wurde für die Produktion noch von seiner Band The Buzz begleitet, aber schon beim Nachfolger „I Did Everything“ wurde die Gruppe durch Session-Musiker ersetzt.
